Surf Perch Derby + My Favorites
TBA The Surf Perch Derby is a fishing competition that is held in May. All competitors have to check-in in the morning, and then weigh their catch in the afternoon. The check-in booth is located at the north end of the boardwalk. Registration includes an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast. There are individual and team prizes.
Doggie Olympic Games + My Favorites
TBA This festival occurs at Bolstad Avenue Beach Approach, in Long Beach's downtown. Taking place in the afternoon, there are a number of events that dogs and their owners can compete in. Competitors must register and pay the competition fee in order to compete.
The Annual Beach to Chowder 10K Run & 5K Walk + My Favorites
TBA The Beach to Chowder Run occurs annually and starts and finishes at the Long Beach Arch on the Bolstad Beach. Participants can run along the 10km beach trail or walk along the 5km Discovery Trail. Prior to finishing either the 5km or 10km race, participants can fuel up with the hardy bowl of clam chowder that awaits them at the finish line.
Bare Bones Car Show + My Favorites
TBA This car show is free to all participants and spectators. The car show is open to vehicles, cars, bicycles, and trucks, from before 1975. Live music is featured.
Independence Day Fireworks on the Beach + My Favorites
TBA In celebration of the United States Day of Independence, on July 4th of each year fireworks are shot off at the Long Beach Boardwalk.
Annual Long Beach Rodeo + My Favorites

SandSations Sand Castle Competition + My Favorites
TBA There are four levels to compete in, family, novice, intermediate, or master. Competitors must register prior to check in. Each competitor is designated a plot of sand and begins construction at 9am. All sand castles must be finished at 2pm, and then they are judged at 2:30pm. In the evening there is a beach bonfire.
Washington State International Kite Festival + My Favorites
TBA This festival occurs annually during the third full week of August. It consists of a kite competition and celebration at Long Beach's boardwalk. Many kite-flyers and spectators gather here during this time to enjoy the vast amount of festivities.
SummerFest + My Favorites
TBA On the weekends from May to September there are a variety of shows, events, and performances put on in Long Beach's downtown. SummerFest is aimed towards the family, and admission is free.
One Sky One World Kite Carnival + My Favorites
TBA The One Sky One World Kite Fly occurs on the second Sunday in October, internationally. The carnival's art, entertainment, and events promote multiculturalism. The kite fly will occur at the Bolstad Avenue Beach Approach, and the events will be held at the museum.
